Few places allow whimsy and quality food to exist all at once. Two very special moments, one before I even lived in Austin, have taken place at the board grazing capital (in the capital), Spread & Co.
After hearing praises upon praises of the Cheesy Egg Toast, I thought it was time to see if the Jefferson Square café was worth the graze. Seated on the patio on an overcast day, I laughed over coffees and pancakes stacks with my closest friends for the first time since we left our college home.
I think places and food bring us comfort, but my most memorable restaurant experiences are when I'm sharing a table with the right people. I had the right people next to me on my trips to Spread & Co. before and after I moved to this city. The delicious selections are simply a plus to the magic that comes from sitting by the window and filling space with connection between dear friends.
