Many think being an adult consists of long work days and needing a glass (or two) of wine to cleanse the stress a nine to five brings. But oh, contraire! Fresh off the college train- I am here to tell you being an adult consists of actually having money to spend on that afternoon cappuccino (with oat milk) you've been thinking about with every black cup you consumed over textbooks.
So maybe that's just me, I'd be lying if I said I was hypothetically speaking. Doesn't matter if you relate- the perfect oat milk capp (and overall experience) can be found at Swedish Hill Bakery, Deli & Cafe in Austin, Texas.

Meant to replicate the simplicities of a local London bakery with a New York City deli twist, Swedish hill is tucked between downtown high rises at the heart of the Lone Star's capital city. Note to plan accordingly- this spot is most enjoyed on a sunny day (and of course over a "treat yourself" kind of drink *insert oat milk cappuccino*).

Purple's Picks
Sourdough BLT...black pepper bacon, avocado, beefsteak tomato, lemon mayo
The elements of your classic BLT blended with flavors (lemon mayo + arugula) that elevate the entire sandwich and cause you to never go back to your old ways.
Butternut Squash Soup...sage, lemon yogurt, pepitas
Why eat fall's flavor in the spring? Because Swedish Hill said so. This delectable soup is rich in flavor but light from the yogurt and perfectly paired with your sandwich of choice.

Classic Chicken Salad...mayo, red onion, celery, vinegar (available during happy hour)
A la carte or on fresh ciabatta, your childhood chicken salad has officially been overridden (also available in the grocery case for on-the-go enjoyment).
Butter Croissant & side of Whipped Butter / Seasonal Jam...exactly how it sounds, what more could you need?

Color Me Curious (Purple ?)
Heard some rumors about other gems I have yet to try, but are on my list!
Italian Focaccia Pizza, Charcuterie Board (half off during daily happy hour) , Bolognese Pizza (of course paired with a bottle from their wine selection).
